Eforie Nord, Romania, 2009
From 01.07 till 21.07.2009 the first summer educational camping for children from 7 to 15 was held in the resort city of Eforie Nord, Romania on the bank of the Black Sea.
In the picturesque hotel-complex of Dunarea (Complex Dunarea) all the necessary conditions were created for carrying out the chess courses successfully and having active pastime.
The scheduled training program has been individually adapted for the program participants. Great attention was paid not only to theoretical but also to practical trainings: etude solving competitions, discussions and position playing on the passed themes, circular and blitz tournaments.
Theoretical trainings started with a brief review over the basic stages of the chess game. Later on, the basic attention was paid to end-game training with few figures.
Along with end-game trainings, other important themes were being discussed: classification of end-games, introduction in typical plans and ideas, features of tactical possibilities in end-games, relative value of figures, advantages and shortage of figures. Then all the learnt materials were fixed during practical trainings.
The trainer's work was conducted by the international grand master and well-known trainer Arcadij Rotstein. Dan Mitaru was a great help in trainings. All practical and theoretical trainings were carried out with Rafael Vaganian’s direct participation.
On the solemn closing all participants were given certifications for having passed the initial course. More, the winners of competitions and tournaments were awarded by memorable cups.
